Workshop at the Bakery..
So the bakery is really starting t take shape now, with plenty of preperation for Friday’s big opening!
Yesterday we had our first workshop on site..
Field Trip..
We asked the young people to meet us at the Bakery. We were off to take them to Rockfield Road.
We gave them each a camera for them to take photographs of the site, these are the results….
We were super impressed with the photographs!
Workshop ... Tracing on MAPS
Just a few Steps...
The greatest aspect of using the Bakery as a base for Home Baked is that it is so very close to the houses on Rockfeild Road which we plan to work on with the young people.
As you can see from the map it literally is in walking distance…
HOME BAKED...
Home Baked is an exciting new idea which acts as a development agency to work alongside and in conjunction with 2Up2Down. It is a space for workshops, exhibitions and a communal meeting point which the community around the space have a great deal of control over. It is working with the ethos of people taking control of their own situation by using their own creativity.
Let us take you back to the...
A short Film made by Tim Brundsen specifically for 2up2down on the topic of what client No.2, Kealey finds important to make a home…
MODEL MAKING TIME..
Armed with plenty of lovely coloured plasticine, our next task was to explain to the young people how we could visualise the houses and the area, to get an overall persprective of the project by simply using a template of the area on a much smaller scale!
A short film made by Tim Brunsden about client No. 1
Bob…..
Interview Time ....
So far we had done a great deal of work with the young poeple and been able to see what they wanted in their home. Now it was time to find out what the clients required. The young people were given the role of interviewers to find out…. Bob was to be asked a number of questions about what he needed for his new home…
After School Groups....
We wanted to work with after school groups from the area and local youth clubs to develop the project and possibly create a bit more diversity in the response from the young people.
This is were we met Kealey. The youth group leader in ABCC, after talking to her we realised she would be a perfect client to move into one of the houses created by 2up2down.
A nice Surprise..
During one of our visits we noticed this amazing board made especially for 2up2down by one of the groups of young poeple from Saint Francis of Asissi. We loved it so much as it showed a real interest in the project and their commitment to it!
We are considering asking Saint Francis of Assisi if we could use the logo they created to represent 2up2down for the future as it would describe our...
We managed to film some of the discussion the young people were having for our records…
Potential Client's thoughts..
Architect Marriane led a task whereby she asked the group of young poeple what was needed to create a home…
She then invited one our potential clients up, who was a young person from Saint Francis of Asissi and asked her to put a tick by what she would like for her home from the list of what the other young poeple had created.
Brainstorming...
Back at Saint Francis of Assisi we brainstorming with a another group of young poeple, still trying to get to the route of what a home is and what they need for it to be a happy home.
Drawing time...
We travelled over to North Liverpool Academy loaded with stacks of paper, pencils and pens! It was time for the young poeple to show us what would be their ideal home…
The results for this task were incredible, we got to see visually what they would want to live in, some were so imaginative, influenced by cartoon fantasy others were clever, concise and well thought through. All were great...
